LDGU Junior match

At a recent Leeds and District Golf Union junior match. Our junior team captain  Todd Hughes was playing representing the union.
Whilst this alone is a fantastic occasion the day was made more special in the eyes of Union President Paul Blackburn by an event so notable that it became a key point in his after dinner speach at the LDGU executive and Club Captains annual golf event last weekend.
The team had a member who had not turned up so where a man down. one of our youngest members Ewan Bromley 11 playing of 13 had turned up to support Todd. While they tried to sort out the man down situation. Ewan was asked if he could play.
Having not taken any clubs with him he borrowed the President of the Unions clubs and proceeded to win a half in his first match whilst securing a half in the singles, playing of scratch against a 5 handicapper in the afternoon singles.
Well done Ewan for a miraculous substitution and well done to Todd Hughes for playing on the day and for both of you in representing the district union of golf clubs and flying the MidYorksGC so well.
