Congratulations Mid Yorkshire Golf Club`s Steven Appleton & Richard Flowitt

 LEEDS & DISTRICT  2013 4BBB CHAMPIONS !!!  

The Leeds & District charity 4bbb Final at Low Laithes Golf Club on Thursday 25th July:

Steven Appleton & Richard Neville Flowitt qualified for the Finals after coming Tied 1st but finished 2nd on a count back at the qualifying round shooting an impressive score of Gross 65......Nett 63 !!!

On the day of the Finals Steven & Richard both knew they had to shoot a low score to be in with a chance of winning the Trophy & that's exactly what they did.

The day started out with Steven Driving just short of the 1st hole par 4 and inches away from making a Eagle but easy birdie. (1under) then to back that up Richard secured a birdie at the 2nd & the 4th Hole to move to 3 under gross, then Steven made Birdie at the 6th, Richard made birdie at the 7th to put them 5under gross after 7holes, then 2 steady pars on the 8th & 9th to take them to 5under gross for the front 9.

The back 9 started just the same with birdies at hole 10 ( moving them to 6under) then pars on 11th & 12th then Steven birdied the par 5 13th to put them (7under) then par at the 14th, with only 4 holes to go Steven & Richard knew birdies still had to be made and that's exactly what they did, Steven birdied the 15th Par 4 to take them to 8 under gross, but then the 1st drop shot of the day came at the 16th Par 4 where they both took Bogey but that didn't let them down they bounced right back with Steven Hitting the 17th par 5 in two shots just leaving the Eagle putt short easy tap in birdie moving them back to 8 under gross with only the 18th par 5 left to play. Steven managed to secure a drive up the middle leaving about 250 yards to the flag, the green was in range and Richard gave the confidence to Steven to commit to the shot and go for it and that's exactly what TEAM FLUBA did, 2 Iron onto front of the Green long Eagle putt, But Steven 3 putted the last for a par to secure a Gross 63, Nett 61....The best round Steven & Richard has ever put together over 18 holes. They had to wait around 4 1/2 hours to decide if they had done enough to win and they did but only just winning by 1 shot. 

  Having only just 17 putts after 15 holes between them they knew it was going to be a good day and they returned back as the LEEDS & DISTRICT  2013 4BBB CHAMPIONS !!!
