Men’s captains’ away day supported by 30 members including our owner Richard Teatum, Gareth and Mick. Played over a wonderfully sunny and hot Oakdale GC; which saw Dave Pemberton win the day and the main captain’s prize of a TV/DVD unit.
Second and third places went to Andrew Haigh and Damo Nelson winning a sound system and digital camera.
My thanks go to the 30 members for supporting the day which was capped off by the host clubs green keeper retiring after 44yrs and seeing him whisked off in a helicopter after it landed on the first fairway in front of over 200 members wishing him bon voyage.
Captains Day Saturday men’s prize was won by Brian Barnaby with Dave Pemberton and Ryan Nock coming second and third.
My thanks go to my family who slaved over the bbq all day and also a big thanks to Derek and Martin Lindley who gave up there time to support with the set up and the early brunch burgers.
I'd also like to thank Linda and Christine for running the tombola stall with Linda’s Daughter.
Highlight of the day has to be the BBQ erupting in a ball of flames just as the ladies arrived ensuring only well done sausages where available to be munched on.
Despite the small minority 1% the majority of feedback has been that members enjoyed the day and the free beer and BBQ.
I hope you all enjoyed the two days if you played. Hole prize winner sheets are in the pro shop.
Finally a big thank you to Richard and Christine Teatum for buggying it out to the tent to lend their support later in the day.
